Six School Districts Challenge Florida's School Mask Mandate Ban

The state's anti-school mask mandate debate being heard over the next two days before a Florida administrative law judge. Attorney Edward Guedes is arguing on behalf of six school districts including Miami-Dade and Broward that the state rule preventing them from taking basic COVID safety measures based on local conditions is legally invalid. Department of Health attorneys argue the case should be tossed out because the school boards do not have legal standing to challenge the rule, rooted in the governor's executive order aimed at preventing mask mandates.
