There was major drama between Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian and Kourtney Kardashian on the most recent episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. The long simmering feud between the reality star sisters came to a head on Sunday (December 8) when Kim tried to fire Kourtney from the show that made the Kardashians a household name.
So, why did Kim attempt to give Kourtney the boot from KUWTK? Kim and Khloe feel their older sister isn't pulling her own weight on the show, which results in the rest of them having to pick up her slack. Throughout the episode, Kim and Khloe lamented Kourtney's failure to show up to film the show, as well as her decision to stop sharing her life with the cameras when she does show up to film KUWTK.
“Kourtney spends a lot of time off camera. She won’t talk about her relationship, but you’ll see paparazzi photos of her and her guy that I can’t say his name on the show because Kourtney doesn’t want to,” Kim explained in Sunday night's episode. “I’ll see things or read about it online and wonder like, did this really happen? Is she talking to this person? And realize that it’s true, but she’s so secretive with us that she won’t even tell us.”
“Our job is being open and honest and sharing a lot of ourselves and it just seems like for the past few years now, Kourtney hasn’t really been open about her personal life on camera,” Kim continued. “So all of the days that Kourtney isn’t filming, Khloe and I are picking up the slack and having to share more. Because if we’re not sharing our lives, then what is the show?”
After growing more and more frustrated with Kourtney, Kim called her sister to discuss the ongoing issue. "We have a proposal for you. It starts with an f and ends with a d," Kim said during the call. Kourtney quickly hung up and later spoke about Kim wanting her off the show during a testimonial. "If Kim thinks she has the power to fire me from our family show? It's just crazy," Kourtney said. "It's just sometimes we need a break and I don't want to film with Kim."
Later on in the episode, Kourtney opened up to Kris Jenner about her reasons for wanting to keep details of her personal life off the show. “I shared everything from my relationship with Scott [Disick]. Everything. To where all these people were involved in my relationship and it was horrible for our relationship,” Kourtney explained. “I, of course, am grateful for all the years of filming our show, but I’ve spent so many years on camera and I’m just in a different headspace. It just was a lot of pressure on everyday life and I’ve just outgrown that. The private moments are so special and I just need more of them.”
As for what's going to happen next? The Kardashians have teased fans will just have to keep tuning in to find out whether Kourtney really does leave KUWTK.
